Terror(Our Daily Bread Teens)

Psalms 59:16(KJV)
But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

On 22 May 2017 Manchester and the whole of the UK was left devastated by the terror attack on the Manchester Arena. The bomb went off in the foyer area, which was filled with waiting parents and the teenagers and young kids leaving the Ariana Grande concert. Twenty-three people were killed and over 500 were injured.

It is really scary to think that terrorist attacks like this can happen anytime, anywhere. It can feel like no one is safe.

The Bible tells us that our safety doesn’t come from security guards, the police or even our parents. It is found in God Himself. The book of Psalms talks about hiding in God more than forty times! Many of these references came from King David’s own experience of being hunted and attacked by his enemies. In his prayers for help, he focused all His confidence on God: “for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.” (Psalm 59:16).

Trusting God doesn’t mean He’ll always keep us from difficulty or physical danger. But He does promise to be always with us as our security and shelter in every situation. In Him we find real strength and confidence. There is nothing greater than our God! We belong to Him and only He, not the terrors of this world, has all power.
